WellCapped began with an idea inspired by family. Founders Shante and Lauren were cousins working as consultants in corporate America when in 2021, their aunt asked the question that changed everything: why was she spending hundreds of dollars on wigs and hair extensions, only to wear them for a few weeks before they gathered dust in the closet?

Their aunt had hit on an insight that would lead to a new business. Women were no longer sticking with one look for years; they were experimenting, switching up styles, and expressing themselves in new ways. With the average wig costing around $600, the price of exploring different styles, textures, lengths, and colors adds up quickly.

WellCapped was born as a solution to this problem: a luxury wig rental service that gives women the freedom to change their style as often as they want, at a fraction of the cost. Shante and Lauren wanted to give every woman the opportunity to look and feel her best, without breaking the bank!
