Welcome to the WellCapped fam! We’re so excited to take you behind the scenes and show you what makes our company special. At WellCapped, we’re more than just a wig rental service – we’re a community of unapologetic women supporting each other every step of the way & doing the d**m thing!
Meet the Founders
WellCapped was founded by cousins Lauren (CMO) and Shante (CEO). Prior to WellCapped, Shante worked in corporate for more than 6 years and also served as an Intel officer for the Army National Guard before getting her MBA from NYU Stern. Lauren worked in marketing for big 4 firms for 6 years as well and is a proud of alumnus of LSU.
The story of WellCapped is a little different to say the least! In 2021, Shante and Lauren's aunt gave them the idea to create a company that enabled women to rent hair extensions and wigs instead of spending hundreds of dollars on something that they would only wear for a few weeks before it ended up in the back of their closet. They weren't fans of the idea at first but then they realized that the world was changing. People were no longer sticking with the same hairstyles for years at a time. The girls are switching it up and loving it! However, with the average cost of a wig being $600, the cost of exploring new styles, textures, lengths and colors is high. At WellCapped, we believe that people should look and feel their best without breaking the bank.
Our Process
We’re committed to excellence in everything we do. Our hair is sourced from top suppliers overseas, and each batch is quality-checked by hand in Atlanta. This ensures that only the best hair makes it into our wigs.
Every wig is also handmade by talented local stylists in Atlanta who bring their best selves with every unit!
